Winter Waters Dinner 2025

  • Local Ocean Seafoods 213 Southeast Bay Boulevard Newport, OR, 97365 United States (map)

Join us at Local Ocean Seafoods for a a seaweed-focused 5-course pre-fixe dinner with Local Ocean Executive Chef Enrique Sanchez-Rodriguez.

A portion of the proceeds from this dinner will be donated to Winter Waters PNW and the non-profit causes they support.

Last year, Local Ocean hosted guest chef Luis Cabanas, who knocked it out of the park with Chef Enrique. The 5-course tasting menu was met with thunderous applause from the packed dining room. Read about last year's event here.

This year, we are proud to announce we will be partnering with Siletz Valley School's culinary director Patrick Clarke and his students, who have been participating in Oregon's first ever High School Seafood Butchery program. You may have heard about the program, as it was recently featured by many media outlets including Oregon Public Broadcasting -- this innovative program has been getting a lot of attention as it seeks to develop Oregon's future workforce.

There's a big movement to keep more Oregon seafood local, as a recent study found that up to 90% of the seafood served on the Oregon coast does not come from Oregon.

Programs like the High School Seafood Butchery will prepare Oregon for a future where more seafood is local -- and we're so excited to support their efforts! The program is a partnership between the Oregon Coast Visitor's Association, Economic Development Alliance of Lincoln County, and Oregon Seafare.
